NDS Job Families are a global management tool designed to carry a common understanding of roles and responsibilities across NDS and facilitate the implementation and use of a common performance appraisal system. It is a generic framework using a common language and matching role requirements with people competencies and knowledge.

The objectives of NDS Job Families are to:-
  • Recognise expertise and know-how through a dual career ladder approach, Managerial and Technical.
  • Provide you with a clear set of expectations for your role, in order to facilitate performance management (including setting of objectives, development needs and review of performance) Help you identify your existing knowledge, skills and competency levels, and therefore pinpoint your development areas.
  • Provide you and your managers with visibility on the career paths available, facilitating the development of the competencies and skills required in potential future roles and therefore to manage your careers. NDS Job Families incorporate Band Levels, Job Family Tasks, Competences and Knowledge Tables.
